Stephanie Lüning's artistic work often intervenes in urban infrastructures and creates dream-like scenarios: For her current actions, for example, she uses a foam machine to produce huge colored foam mountains made of biodegradable dishwashing detergent and food coloring, which temporarily flood squares, bridges, and objects. The colorful foam mountains briefly transform the city into another world before disappearing again, leaving the urban space without visible traces - only the images and experiences made during the unfamiliar situation echo in the viewers.
For Ruhr Ding: Schlaf Stephanie Lüning develops a performance and a temporary installation in Steele. This also raises the question of the extent to which the ephemeral, playfully light foam landscapes do not also possess a subversive potential.
Stephanie Lüning first completed an apprenticeship as a type and graphic painter before studying theater painting and then fine arts at the Dresden University of Fine Arts. In her process-oriented working method, she uses a wide variety of materials, tests aggregate states, and in the process questions the genre boundaries of painting.
