Microsoft Teams image 9

The Ruhr Ding: Schlaf forms the conclusion of an exhibition trilogy with which Urbane Künste Ruhr, under the artistic director Britta Peters, is touring the Ruhr area. Following Ruhr Ding: Territorien (2019) and Ruhr Ding: Klima (2021) the third edition shifts the focus from questions about the environment and the environment to the human body and its need for sleep – and reflects on the and uses art to reflect on the question of how we want to live.

At Ruhr Ding: Schlaf 22 works by 19 artists can be experienced: from film, sculpture, painting and photography to language, text, music and sound to installations, workshops and performances, the works deal with the theme of sleep in a variety of ways and all have one thing in common: they were created for specific places and contexts in the and contexts in the Ruhr area.

We cordially invite you to celebrate the opening of Ruhr Ding: Schlaf with us from 5.5. to 7.5., to get to know the cities, artists and projects over three days and to go on a discovery tour yourself.
