Statement on the war in Ukraine

We are deeply shocked by the war waged by Russia against Ukraine and Europe. Our solidarity goes out to all Ukrainians, regardless of their appearance, migration history and sexual orientation, and also to all those in Russia who are protesting against their country's policies that violate international law. What we can all do now:

Show solidarity

A worldwide overview of peace demonstrations can be found at standwithukraine.live

Aid packages, donations in kind and personal commitment

Relief supplies are being collected in many cities in the Ruhr area, especially medicines as well as hygiene and cleaning articles are needed. In Dortmund, for example, Grenzenlose Wärme is collecting aid, in Bochum the Donetsk-Gesellschaft via Grüne Bochum and Seebrücke Witten as well as the network Bochum hilft. The platform ukraine.Inob.net registers and networks offers of help, e.g. for translation services, transport and visits to the authorities.

Offering accommodation

The platform Elinor, together with GLS-Bank, Ecosia and betterplace.org, arranges accommodation. Anyone who has a room available can register online at elinor.network/gastfreundschaft-ukraine/

Donate money

e.g. Mission Lifeline: mission-lifeline.de/ukraine, Queere Nothilfe: altruja.de/nothilfe-ukraine via Rosa Strippe e.V. or Donezk-Gesellschaft Bochum: bochum-donezk.de
