Can I change anything at all about the state of the world and social conditions with my own behavior?

"There is no right life in the wrong", the philosopher Theodor W. Adorno stated in his Minima Moralia, thus delivering what is probably his most famous thesis. Nearly 70 years later, philosopher and political scientist Michael Hirsch revisits it. In Richtig falsch. Es gibt ein richtiges Leben im Falschen, freshly published in the series Kleiner Stimmungsatlas by Textem Verlag, he describes a sharply deteriorating social climate and a discrepancy between theoretical social criticism and concrete behavior. Hirsch reflects in particular on the role of intellectuals, whose emancipatory potential remains unused. Yet the social and cultural achievements of the last forty years offer good conditions for improving social conditions. They only have to be used!

In the Wanderersalon, Michael Hirsch will read from Richtig falsch (Rightly Wrong) and explain central thought motifs and theses, after which he will enter into an intensive discussion with the audience.

Michael Hirsch is a philosopher and political scientist. He teaches political theory and the history of ideas at the University of Siegen and lives as a freelance author and lecturer in Munich. Recent publications include: Richtig falsch. Es gibt ein richtiges Leben im falschen (2019); Die Überwindung der Arbeitsgesellschaft. Eine politische Philosophie der Arbeit (2016); Logik der Unterscheidung. 10 Thesen zu Kunst und Politik (2015).
