Natalie Bookchin

Natalie Bookchin is an American artist from Brooklyn, New York, who is a pioneer of media art. Already in the 1990s and early 2000s, she was a member of the art and activist collective RTMark and attracted attention with projects like Intruder (1999) and Metapet (2003). Her works, which are primarily in the fields of video, photography and other media, have been shown all over the world, including at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Centre Georges Pompidou. The artist often uses found footage from video platforms and makes it part of her work. Bookchin is a professor at Rutgers University and lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

In the Wandersalon, the artist will not only show her work, but also provide insights into her working method in a dialogue with Britta Peters, artistic director of Urbane Künste Ruhr.
