Stefan Marx

The quirky figures of Hamburg artist and draftsman Stefan Marx can be found not only on T-shirts and record covers, but also in galleries and on house facades. His large murals, in which he often captures everyday observations pictorially and typographically, have even long since become part of Ruhr culture. For the Ruhr Ding: Territorien, for example, he designed three monochrome works in Bochum, Dortmund, and Essen that sing poetic to melancholy praises of life and the daily grind in the Ruhr. But Stefan Marx and Urbane Künste Ruhr are also closely connected in other ways: For each Wandersalon, the artist designs new illustrations that already adorn flyers, postcards and bags.
