Margo Zālīte

Margo Zālīte (born 1980 in the Soviet Union) works in Dortmund, Berlin and Riga in the mediation of music theatre studies, space-time models and the transfer of world views. Her studies in visual anthropology (FU Berlin) and opera directing (Hanns Eisler University of Music Berlin), as well as her experience in multidisciplinary projects and festivals in Latvia, Poland and Germany, have been an important basis for her own stage interpretation. Margo Zālīte is an alumna of the Akademie Musiktheater heute and has been on the management team of the FAVORITEN Festival since 2021. She has several years of experience in writing librettos, scenarios, essays, stage plays and concepts for unusual theatre venues.

On 1.9. at Healing Complex, Margo Zālīte's performance electric mushroom chapel uses modular synthesizers to create a connection between the electrical impulses of the mushrooms and the music, which she weaves into spherical soundscapes. As an opera director, Margo sees the performance as an artistic way to stage a timeless experience in which the audience can immerse themselves. You are invited to relax and enjoy the sound collage while lying, sitting or otherwise lingering.
