Keep your head above water or go swimming with your ideas? This time, the Wandersalon is about swimming and failure – and all the other associations that the phrase suggests.
The projects of the two artists Kasia Fudakowski (*1985) and Jeewi Lee (*1987) at Silbersee II in Haltern, which were planned in cooperation with Urbane Künste Ruhr, “literally fell through” this year due to the pandemic and will now not be shown until 2021 at Ruhr Ding: Klima. In her film series Word Count, Kasia Fudakowski draws connections between climate change and communication. She sketches a dystopian future in which people are only allowed to speak 433 words a day, otherwise the sea level will rise uncontrollably. In her works, Korean artist Jeewi Lee often goes in search of traces and allows past stories to resurface.
At the Wandersalon Kasia Fudakowski will transform her series into a performance, Jeewi Lee will talk about doubting and failing in her own artistic practice.
